The Institute of Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering Installations is one of three institutes of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy of the Poznań University of Technology.

The Institute is a scientific and teaching facility composed of two Divisions:

– the Water Supply and Bioeconomy Division,

– the Heating, Air-Conditioning and Air Protection Division.

There are about 60 staff employed at the Institute.

The Institute employees conduct the following teaching activities:
– lectures,
– auditorium classes,
– project classes,
– laboratory classes,
– seminars.

Full-time and part-time programmes in the environmental engineering major include courses in such subjects as heating and district heating, ventilation and air conditioning, air protection, energy management, energy-efficient construction, renewable energy sources, gas engineering, water supply and sewerage, water protection, water and wastewater treatment, waste neutralization, Green Investment Schemes (GIS), urban planning and municipal infrastructure management.

The Institute offers education in two specializations: heat supply, air conditioning and air protection, and water supply, water protection and soil protection.

The Institute conducts research as part of its statutory work, in-house research and under research grants. The scientific research results in publications in international and national magazines and participation in scientific and technical conferences in Poland and abroad.

The Institute also offers such services as inspecting building installation elements, preparing expert reports on the condition of environmental engineering devices, technical counselling, energy audits of facilities and systems, waste management and biofuel production technology appraisals, analysis of the operation of water supply and sewage systems using cutting-edge computer methods and other services pertinent to the Institute’s scope of work.
